Mesothelioma cancer lawsuit leads to $30 million verdict
Written by Jason Wentworth

The widow of a man who passed away from mesothelioma cancer won more than $30 million from a mesothelioma cancer lawsuit.

It is believed that her deceased husband was exposed to asbestos in the early '70s when as a college student, he worked at a General Motors warehouse and came across asbestos-containing auto parts. It is also likely that he was also exposed to asbestos as a child because his father also worked with asbestos products. Asbestos fibers from asbestos-containing products could have clung to the father's clothes and inhaled by the deceased when his father came home. The deceased passed away from the asbestos cancer mesothelioma in 2002.

Asbestos cancers like mesothelioma typically develop decades after exposure to asbestos. Unfortunately, when mesothelioma cancer is diagnosed, treatment options are usually limited. There is no cure for mesothelioma cancer but there are care options that can improve the quality of a person suffering from mesothelioma cancer.

Many people are at risk of developing the asbestos cancer mesothelioma. This is because asbestos was used in many products. Some products include roofing shingles, floor tiles, brake pads and gaskets. Thus, people who worked with asbestos-containing products such as mechanics, electricians and construction workers, are at risk of developing asbestos cancers like mesothelioma and lung cancer.
